Shinjuku Day trip to Mount Fuji
If you’re tired of the city and want to experience nature, you should visit Mount Fuji. At Mount Fuji, you can take pictures, visit the onsen, experience a festival or hike the many parks and trails around Mt Fuji.
It takes 1 hour 45 minutes from Shinjuku bus station to Mt Fuji Station. There is also a theme park called Fuji-Q Highland where you can experience the best rollercoasters and rides in Japan.
You should also visit the 5 lakes (Yamanakako Lakes) around Mount Fuji. It takes approximately 2 hours 10 minutes and you can visit all the picturesque landscape and beauty around this area. There are a few must go onsens you should try. One of the best ways to relax in an onsen and view Mt Fuji at the same time.
Kawaguchi Lake is also the biggest lake around Mt Fuji. It is a breathtaking view of Mt Fuji where you can see the reflection of Mt Fuji over the lake. It takes about 1 hours and 50 minutes to get to Kawaguchi lake from Shinjuku.
If you want to go directly to Mt Fuji (Station 5) at the highest point possible by transport, it takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Sometimes if there is too much snow at Mt Fuji, you can only make it to Station 3 or 4 weather permitting.
